Aston Martin Vulcan

Value – £2,399,970

At the very top of the hypercar market, and the most expensive British supercar you can buy today, we have the Aston Martin Vulcan. The Vulcan is so rare that you will almost never be seen on the road.

Only 24 Aston Martin Vulcans were ever produced, and this example is number 14 of 24.

The Vulcan is Aston Martin’s attempt at creating the ultimate track-day hypercar. Aston Martin do have form when it comes to making extremely rare limited run supercars, with the One-77 being their last model. They stepped up their game however with the Vulcan, only making 24 compared to the One-77s 77 cars.

Aston Martin’s flagship hypercar houses a mid-engined layout with a 7.0-litre V12 powerplant. This V12 produces over 800 horsepower and was developed in partnership with both Aston Martin Racing and Cosworth.

The body is carbon fibre with fully detachable panels, and downforce on par with GT3 race cars. It has a multi-adjustable rear wing to optimise track performance and more features akin to a true race car than a road going production car. This is due to the fact that the Vulcan isn’t actually road legal.

To date there is only one version of the Vulcan which has been modified to be road-legal. British engineering company RML Group modified a Vulcan across the space of 18 months. There were modifications across the board, with the ride height being raised due to clearance issues, new headlights being added, the carbon splitter being shortened and many aerodynamic pieces being removed.

The 7.0-litre V12 engine had to be remapped so it could pass emissions tests, the gear ratios had to be altered and the clutch changed to an easier to manage product. The dampers and suspension springs had to be changed and the mirrors had to be replaced due to visibility.

The particular Aston Martin Vulcan for sale however, isn’t road-legal and can only be used on closed race circuits.

It is being sold by Kaaimans International in Nottingham with a rather fetching asking price of£1,999,975 + VAT

Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster

Value – £1,750,000

Aston Martin continued their trend of making limited production run supercars with the Vanquish Zagato Speedster. Only 28 Vanquish Zagato Speedsters were ever made. This means when they do pop up for sale they command quite a lot of attention.

This Zagato has only had 1 owner and has done almost no mileage, with 572 miles on the clock. All Zagatos are beautifully designed and crafted, with this one in a rare colour combination, even for a car of this caliber. It has been finished in a traditionalAston Martin shade of green with the Italian-inspired Copper Tan hide interior.

Aston’s Speedster shares the same mechanical underpinnings as the other Zagatos in the range. It houses a 6.0-litre V12 engine which produces a mighty 592 horsepower. For this Speedster Aston developed an entirely bespoke suspension set-up to maximise performance.

Aston chief creative officer Marek Reichman said that Aston would not give in to temptation and they wouldn’t extend the production run of the Speedsters, even if they completely sold out… Which they did.

“There’s always over-demand from our clients and patrons,” Aston’s design boss added. “We could easily fulfil demand for more cars than this, but we want Zagato to remain something very special.

This model is being sold by Aston Martin themselves and is listed at £1,750,000.

For £50,000 less than the iconic DB5, you could be the new owner of its successor, the DB6.
