Have you ever had peanut butter blossom cookies? When I make my Christmas cookie trays, one of the first cookies that always disappear on it is the peanut butter blossom cookies. I think it is that chocolate and peanut butter combo that people love in the peanut butter blossom cookies.

So how can I change up the classic blossom cookies? The answer came to me cookie butter! I saw some chocolate cookie butter at the store and thought why not use the cookie butter in place of peanut butter in a recipe for blossom cookies.
What Is Cookie Butter?
So what is cookie butter? Cookie butter is a food paste made primarily from speculoos cookie crumbs, fat, flour, and sugar. Cookie butter is a substitute for Nutella and any nut butter like peanut butter. So cookie butter cookies would be great for any peanut butter cookies!

So for these cookie butter cookies, I did find some Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter that was chocolate, but what if you do not find chocolate cookie butter? Well, the simples thing to do for these cookie butter cookies is to add a little baking cocoa powder to the cookie mix!

Chocolate Cookie Butter Blossoms
Chocolate Cookie Butter Blossoms is a twist on a peanut butter blossom by using cookie butter instead. It gives this classic cookie a whole new taste.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter soften
- 3/4 cup Chocolate Cookie Butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 48 Hershey Kisses
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper
In the bowl combine the butter, chocolate cookie butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
Beat together on medium-high speed until light and creamy, about 3-4 minutes, scraping down the bowl as necessary.
Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until just combined.
Roll tablespoon of doughinto small balls.
Place on the prepared sheet pan about 2 inches apart.
Bake about 10 minutes. Immediately after removing cookies from the oven, place a Hershey’s kiss in the center of each cookie, pressing it down gently. After a few minutes, transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
Serve them up and ENJOY
Notes
If you can not find chocolate cookie butter add about 1/4 cup baking cocoa powder to the cookie mix. May adjust depending on your chocolate tastes!
